My Family has been part of the Magic Sparks family for over 5 years continuously with 1 daughter a graduate and 1 still attending. It has the perfect balance of indoor and outdoor play areas, special cultural or themed days throughout the year and is just an all round great centre. I felt so supported with my transition back to work when my youngest started at the centre and both mine and my daughters needs were well accommodated.

My son has attended Magic Sparks Kāpiti for 4 months now and absolutely loves it. He is thriving with other tamariki and kaiako in his environment. The center team as a whole are very communicative and have helped him to settle in smoothly as he transitioned from another center. We are so happy with the love, care, and learning that he is receiving throughout his days there. Magic Sparks is one of the best daycare centre's in Lower Hutt. My daughter finished at magic sparks and she absolutely loves this place. Staff and teachers are friendly and so caring to all the kids. Their activities and learning methods are really good to boost self confidence in kids. The vision of the owners is brilliant. I'd just like to reiterate how wonderful the team at Magic Sparks Cuba were, we had a great experience overall with them.

My son had been getting very sick, very often with his previous daycare. He also had regular injuries inflicted by other children that they often couldn't explain.

He was with them from 5 months until 15 months old and was showing no signs of starting to walk, then within a week of moving him to Magic Sparks he was walking. His language and health improved vastly during his time at Magic Sparks and I can't thank the team there enough for their wonderful care and nurturing environment.

My son started late last year, and it has definitely bought out his personality! I love picking him up at the end of the day and seeing how happy he is playing with other kids. I always thought that I wouldn't put him in a Daycare but I'm happy I have and especially at Discovery, the other places I checked out weren't as great. Love how the Staff know each of the kids personality. I could never put my boy anywhere else as I'm so attached to Discovery! Thanks soooo much guys! You guys are the best! Definitely recommend to everyone!!! 🙂

We have 5 children and this is the first day care we have put our boys into and found a very easy transition for our 5th son, who came from a Kindy. I knew right from when I first walked in the doors that I would be enrolling my daughter (18 months old) there. The staff are so welcoming and the atmosphere is friendly. My girl wanted to go and play straight away and we had only just arrived to have a look! I haven't regretted enrolling her here at all, she has so much fun - both inside with all the various toys and books, or outside doing water play. I love the warm, caring and learning focused environment, and the fact healthy food is provided is a bonus!

Absolutely love Magic Sparks, both of our boys have so much love for the kaiako and centre. When my older boy started school we were told what a great job both us and his daycare had done to set him up for school. Our younger boy has recently transitioned out of the nursery and into the bigger room and is thriving; it's really reassuring seeing him happy throughout the day with all of the pics from the kaiako!

My son has been at Magic Sparks since he was 8 months old and is now 2 years old. He absolutely flourished under the care and guidance of the kaiako in the nursery who instilled a huge amount of curiosity and confidence in him through their constant encouragement, and showed such patience with a tricky sleeper and managed to get him from contact napping to sleeping a solid 2.5-3hrs on his own.

His recent transition to the preschool has been so smooth and kaiako were with him every step of the way as he integrated into the new big room with the same level of support and care that we've seen from the very beginning.

The centre itself is well looked after and full of things to do and learn, with kaiako providing so much enrichment through activity throughout the day. A huge plus for us are the well-sized and well-equipped outdoor areas which the kids get out in rain or shine, and our son loves spending as much time as he can out there, whether getting on the bikes or testing his confidence on the climbing frames.

We had initially planned to send our son to a local kindy once he turned three but it's clear that Magic Sparks is where we'll stay. The level of care, focus, and nurturing from the kaiako is excellent, and our son experiences such rich enjoyment, enrichment and a huge sense of belonging at Magic Sparks.

We have been at Magic Sparks with both of our children for over four years. When our first child started, I was very anxious, but it was beautiful to see how lovingly and attentively the carers supported her. From the beginning, we felt reassured by the genuine care and warmth shown to our children.

Both of our children have formed strong bonds with their teachers and built wonderful relationships with other children. Our first child especially enjoyed the wide range of arts and crafts activities, which allowed her to express her creativity every day. Our second child is more active and loves both the indoor play spaces and the outdoor area, which can be safely used even during rainy or windy weather.

The teachers are very friendly and work very well together, creating a welcoming and familiar atmosphere. Over the years, we have also built strong relationships with the staff, which gives us great peace of mind and makes us feel comfortable leaving our children in their care at Magic Sparks.

Our daughter has been attending Magic Sparks Nature preschool since it opened and prior to that she attending Magic sparks Cuba. Our experience from this has been nothing short of outstanding. The continuity of staff has aloud our daughter to thrive within this setting. She has had the same teachers since she was 11 months old. This preschool has an amazing setting with nature surrounding the school. The education is amazing and I have noticed such a growth within our daughter over the last year while attending. I would highly recommend this school to anyone who is looking for a place for their child.

We believe Magic Sparks Nature is a quality preschool. They provide a warm and inclusive environment where our son feels loved, cared for and supported. The Teachers are attentive, responsive, and genuinely interested in our son’s needs and development. We have always felt so supported since the day we went in and had our 1st visit. I truly believe our sons social skills and confidence has come from his time at Magic sparks nature and the commitment the teachers have put into him as these were the 2 main reasons we put our son into Preschool. I just wanted to drop you an email to say what a great job the teachers at the Cuba St branch are doing with the “before school” initiatives.

I know a lot of other day-care centres don’t do a lot of the things that Magic Sparks do to prep kids for school, or that extra level of activity offered like the school holiday programme we recently received the flyer about (may not have the correct terminology there, but the activities we were asked to select that we’d be interested in our children participating in) and the designated area the older kids now have.

Please pass on a big thank you from both Hayden and I. We really appreciate the extra effort this involves.

I was breastfeeding Sophocles when he first joined the Magic Sparks family and now he is ready to go to the “big” school!!!! What a journey!

I would like to highlight the support of the centre during the pandemic and especially when Sophocles suffered the consequences of glandular fever. You can’t imagine the importance of your understanding during those hard times!

And of course a huge thank you to his teachers who helped him to become the “big”, wonderful boy he is !

Siena has had such a lovely time at your centre, I cannot speak highly enough of your facilities and your staff. We have been very happy there. It’s not all sad (Siena leaving for school) as there will be another baby in the not too distant future, but in the interim I just want to thank you so much for the excellent service you provide, both in educating and caring for my child. In my opinion you excel at what you do and you should all be very proud of the centre and each other.

I cannot speak highly enough of your facilities and your staff

am so happy I shifted my child to Magic Sparks. I was nervous about the disruption of moving her, but I immediately knew I had done the best thing for my child, I couldn’t be more pleased with the facilities or the teaching staff. I quickly noticed an improvement in my child’s manners following the switch, the teachers set a good example for the children and encourage respect and kindness.

The teachers are very good at engaging the children in play and there are so many toys and resources available to the children. Being a new centre the toys and facilities are new and they have created a wonderful welcoming and fun environment for learning and play.

The staff have been very accommodating and attentive to my wishes. It was important to me that my child be welcomed and involved in an activity at drop off time and i have been consistently pleased in this respect. Similarly my wishes are for the teachers to show affection and develop a bond with my child and i feel very happy that this is the case.

I have very high expectations and Magic Sparks exceeds them. I know now that a good childcare centre can and does make a real difference to not only your child’s happiness but also their behaviour
